Artist Boat
Hello my name is Angie Lara. I went to the Artist Boat field trip to Galveston Bay. When we go there it was amazing but it was a little cold! I was happy to be there. First the teachers explained to us how to get in the kayaks and paddle. We stopped to eat lunch and the teachers explain the difference between the salt water and fresh water. When we paddled back my partner and I went fast and we had fun. It was amazing to have this opportunity. THE END :-)
My day at the artist boat was fun. First Mr. Phill and Alex taught us how to use the paddles and how to turn our boats around. After that we went in the water. There were stingrays in the water but we didn't get to see them because people were being too loud. When we were riding our kayak my partner and I bumped Mr.Parker and their kayak but they didn't fall out. Then we went and measured the salinity of the water. After that we ate our lunches that we brought from home on an island. Then we traveled all the way to the sand bag and we saw blue crabs. It was really fun! Then we went further than out and and painted using water colors. We had to paint the environment that surrounded us. We ate sea berries and saw a snail that opens a stem and poops in it. The snail poop fertilizes the plants. Then we paddled all the way back to shore. It was a great day!

Artist boat
The Artist boat was awesome! We learned about the salinity of the water and that salt and fresh water mixed is called brackish. We ate lunch on an island and tested the waters ph and salinity. I raced my teacher and won. Also, we ran into the grass and got stuck. After we ate, we paddled to a different location and painted the awesome scenery, Then headed back to school. Today was a fantastic day!

Hello my name is Nadia Morales. I went to the Cypress Swamps with the Artist Boat on December 02, 2015. When we got there it was so cold but I was happy to be given the opportunity to go. I was in the first group to get in the kayaks. I was scared when they told us that there were alligators and snakes in the water. We went far out in the water, far away from the land. We saw many trees and fish for the first time. It was fun because we went between the trees, and almost got stuck. The water was cold and looked dirty but I learned that the water was fresh water . I learned about a plant called spanish moss. It was fun when we painted the nature picture and when we did the water quality tests.
Hi my name is Kenya Johnson. I recently went on the kayaking trip to Trinity Bay. I had fun going kayaking with my classmates. My partner and I made it back to shore first before our other classmates. It was also a good way to learn while having a good time. One of my classmates kayak flipped over so she had to swim all the way back to shore. It was also a good exercise for your arms because when you paddle, your arms start to hurt. The trip was also a good learning experience about some science that I did not know about. We learned about how water was made clean by the plants living there, and how the trees help stop flooding. There was also many trees and plants. There was a plant i think called Spanish moss that the lady told us it was related to the pineapple. Before we left we fed pepperoni to the community dog. I had a very good learning experience from this trip. It was very educational to me.

Cypress Swamp Trip
When we went to the cypress swamp, we first tested the water for various things such as salinity nitrate levels, pH and turbidity. Salinity is the amount of salt in parts per thousand, and the salinity was about 1. Nitrate levels were around 0-5. pH was about 7.5 and the water was very turbid. We then learned about different paddling techniques. We tightened our life jackets and started to paddle into the water. There were many bugs, birds and alligators along the way. We stopped after awhile, ate and painted, then turned around and headed back. During the full trip we learned the 4 purposes of a wetland.
Lake Trip
On the trip I learned that alligators were not as aggressive as I thought they were. I learned that a large population of bugs swim in the water and I also got to know my partner a little better. I now know it's harder to paint in a kayak. The last thing I learned was how fast you can go with a little bit of team work.
Cypress Swamp
Today I learned a lot more about pH, salinity and other water testing things. Today was fun. My favorite thing was being out on kayaks in the open environment and learning about nature. I have never been to a cypress swamp before, so it was a totally new scene. I was glad that I had the opportunity to go out and see alligators. A fish jumped into a friends boat and that was a cool sight to see. Thank you for taking us on the trip.
Artist Boat
The best thing about our field trip was that we got to see a lot of alligator. We also got the ride kayaks and got to talk to friends. We also learned about the water that was in the Cypress Swamp. We got to paint what we saw in the habitat. There were also fish jumping out of the water. One of these fish actually jumped into one of my friends boats, but he let it go. It was a great experience that included good exercise...overall it was a fun trip.
Swamp Trip
Today at the Cypress Swamp, I learned that the pH of the water was like 7.5. I learned that the salinity was 1 parts per thousand. I saw 3 alligators and 1 was big and got close to my kayak. I learned that scientist use pH and salinity testing to measure how healthy the water is. I also got to use the tool that measures the salinity in the water and it was called a refractometer.

Artist Bout
I had went to Artist Bout, not so long a go. I thought it was wonderful. I like what I learned as well, we learned that when ever it rains or the weather might seem bad, the river moves quicker. Besides, the view was amazing, I even drew it as my painting. I am very thankful that I went, we went kayaking with a partner, and it was very cool. The weather was perfect and I enjoyed it very well.-Nayeli S.
we check the water because we need to know if the water is good or bad for the ecosystem .we check it to know what is in the water.we check it with some special tools which are very cool.we should take more care of what we are doing to our ecosystem because that can hurt the animals that live there.i learn a lot in artistbote and it was really fun. -maria h.

hello i am here to talk about what I learned at artist boat. we learned about turbidity which is like how far we can see into the water in tell it gets to foggy. that is important because it means the fish are not getting some oxygen. Now is salinity it tells how mush salt and other stuff are in the water. now is about pH this is really important because if it is to acid it can harm everything, but if it to helpful it will harms. -Dwayne K

I learned that to check the salt in the water is to see how light the water is. I also learned that we have to check the water to make sure it is safe for the fishes. we use the refractometer to check the salinity in the water. the refractometer is used to see what dissolved solids are in the water. I also leanred there is a lot of wild life out there. - sara g

My time in Artist Boat
I had such a fun time will I was in artist boat, I both enjoy it and learn from it. It was one of the only experience I had to ride a kayak. Some coll things I learn about this trip learning the tools we use to check our environments around Texas. For example here are a few things I learned on the artist boat trip
Checking water is really important for both us and the animals that live there, as it dependents how effective can be, by checking local environments health/condition. The environments can help within he flood control and be home to a many type of life, they also purified water. I also got too see some cool tools like Serchidisk, Refractometor, and litmus paper. These tolls are measured to see how healthy this environment can be, for example the Serchidisk helps us see how clean or unclean the water can be. The Refractormetor helps us determine how much salt is there in the water of the environment. Also no to forget litmus paper a great tool to see how healthy is the water with chemical changes when the water chose the paper, making different color and help us to find out its quality.
This is my writing of the Artist Boat, and may you have a nice day.

We check water using Seechidisk, Refractometer, and litmus paper. The seechidisk checks the Turbidity. The refractometer checks the Salinity and the litmus paper checks the pH. It is important because humans can't handle too much salt water and neither can the fish in the ocean. It is bad because a fish who lives in salt water can't handle too much freshwater and vise versa. If we don't check the water often it could be bad because something bad could be in the water and we wouldn't know. The Seechidisk makes shows how clear the water is. The Refractometer measures salinity and the pH shows the acidic levels. These are important to us.

The Artist Boat field trip was the best field trip this year in my opinion. We learned what turbidity was (how cloudy the water is), also most importantly we learned how to Kayak. To be honest at first it was not so great for my partner and I, only because we kayaked ourselves straight into a tree.It was really fun though! In the end we learned we learned about the beauty of nature, even though there are spiders and snakes it wasn't that bad.
Artist Boat
I learned so much during the Artist Boat trip. I learned about Turbidity, Salinity, and pH. Turbidity is when you check to see if the water is healthy for the environment. Salinity is when you check to see how much water is in the water. PH is when you see where on a chart your liquid would fall upon other chemicals. You can salinity by taking a refractometer and holding it upward. you can check for turbidity by getting a secchi disk. Overall it was a great learning experience and I hope everyone else thinks that also.

The artist boat was really fun, I had a blast with my friends. I also learned how to paddle, and how to move the kayak in any direction i want. I learn how to measure the pH level of the water. The pH is to measure how much salt there is in the water or how salty it is. You measure it by seeing how bright it is, if its really bright, then the pH level of the water is high. / Saul D

During the Artist Boat field trip I learned the proper way to kayak. I also learned about wetlands. I learned that testing for turbidity, salinity, and pH helps to protect the ecosystem. If we didn't test for these things we wouldn't know what the water is like and if it was safe for the environment.Turbidity is checking the water to see if it is healthy for the living things in the environment.

The Artist Boat fieldtrip was a fun experience ! I learned how to kayak and measure turbidity , Salinity , and PH. Turbidity is measured by sechiidisk. We measure Turbidity to see is cloudiness or haziness of fluid caused by large numbers of individually particles. Salinity is tested with Refractometers. We test Salinity to see how many salt there is in the water. We test PH with litmus paper . We test PH to see how many acidity of aikalinity the4re is in the water. -Bertha R.
Artist boat was a unique experience and hope to attend it again. I learned and discovered a lot of new things that i didn't know about the water.I learned that we check our water quality to see if fish can survive for we can fish, The water is fresh and safe to drink, and good for our environment. We check the salinity, turbidity, and PH. i hope to attend artist boat again and learn more about my environment. - Bryce R.
We learned a lot on the artist boat field trip it was a fun an amazing experience. I have been on artist boat before and it was fun I learned something new every time I went. We learned about stuff like pH, Turbidity, and Salinity all very important things to test in an ecosystem. pH is the acidity in the water. This can be harmful to the ecosystem if there is too much or too little of acidity in the water if the acidity level is to low or to high then the organisms in that ecosystem could die.we test the acidity with litmus paper it is a small strip of paper you dip it in the water and the strip turns a certain color there is a key and the color that matches the color on the key gives you a number and that is the level of acidity in the water. Turbidity is the murkiness of the water this can be harmful to the ecosystem because if there is to much dirt and pollution in the water then the oxygen cannot pass through and the fish cannot breathe. Salinity is another very important water quality test that needs to be checked often. There is a instrument called a refractometer you place a small drop of the water you are testing in the refractometer close the refractometer and it shows a number and that is how much salinity there is it should be about 20 psi.I would like to become a marine biologist when i get older.people need these test and they use them in their every day lives pool cleaners use them, marine biologist use them and lots of other people use them.
I had a great time on artist boat and i am hoping to go back some time

on my artist boat i learned that people have to test the salinity of the water to see if its safe for wild life and people. I also learned about what PH levels. HP levels are what you use to test the assiduity of the water. also apparently the plants in swamps marches and other habitats plants filter pollution. I cant what for my next trip so i cam learn more

On Artist boat I learned that they test the water quality in many ways. like test it for salinity with a refractometer or pH with litmus cards. I also learned that they do this to protect the wildlife and our water supply from harmful chemicals. And try to stop what causes the chemicals to get there. Saving the native species that live there from pollution. -Max K.
What I did at Artist Boat was study the salinity( with a refractometer) and see how much light bends when it comes into contact with the surface of the water to see how clear or murky the water is. How we check water quality is testing the salinity, pH, Turbidity and how clear the water is. I tested the amount of salt there was in the water to see if it was safe enough to drink and if it was safe for the animals that live in that water as well. Why we study water quality is to see how safe the water that we live beside and drink and use really is.

The time at artist boat was really fun and cool. IN the boat me and my partner Kathy got a lot of water in to the kayak and that was a mess. We checked for the pH level by using a litmus paper and put a drop of water on it and it changed colors if something had happen. we also did water color paintings which also was really fun. I drew the cypress trees that was around us with one of the kids in the picture. - Giovanni J.

I learned how to kayak and how to paddle.pH is like the color of the scales. It was really fun going out to kayak. It was a pretty long trip to the filed trip. We got lost when we went but then we figured it out and got back on track.I got wet because of the paddling and the water getting in the boat. I was soar the next day of all the paddling. It was funny too because i got stuck on the tree and we needed to get out.pH is a piece a paper u stick it on the water and changes color. - Joel C.

I learned about salinity and how to ride in a kayak. The trip was a fun and educational. I learned that salinity is how much salt is in the water. It is useful to know so we will know if the water is good or not. if the water is too salty than we can't drink it and the fish will be unhealthy. We went into fresh water so the water wasn't salty but in the bay it should be medium and the gulf should be kind of high.

What i learned is how to test pH test. Also we learned about turbidity and salinity. The reason why we take these test is because we care about what goes on in our ecosystem. We collected the water by using a refractometer how much light bends or refracts when it enters the liquid.I really enoyed the filed trip. -Pamela M

We learned about turbidity, salinity, and pH level. Turbidity is the cloudiness of a fluid caused by a lot of individual particles. We used a tube and secchi disk to test how much turbidity is in the water. Refractometers measures how the light bends or refracts while in the water. The more salt, the more resistance for the light and the more it will bend. pH level measures the acidity of alkalinity of water, expresses in terms of its concentration of hydrogen ions. pH scales range from 0-14. pH of 7 is neutral, pH lower than 7 is acidic, pH higher is basic.

There are multiple reasons of why we check for water quality. One of the main reasons of why we check it is to see if the water is healthy for the fish and people. We test turbidity to see how much materials are in the water. A lot of materials in the water effect the fish and clog up there gills. That's one of the reasons why we check for water quality. ~ Jordyn Z

We use 3 reliable sources Salinity , Ph and Turbidity but my favorite one is the salinity because you add a drop of the water and it will show you where it is salted at.We check water quality for the environment. There are Alligators in there and they have to be in certain waters and land. The fishes in there also need a very specific type of water. If we have a healthy river then it means we have healthy animals. The river looks better when it is clear of trash , and when the water is clearer. We test the water so we know if its salt or fresh. It could be dirty water or clean water.I really enjoyed kayaking !

it was a long bus ride up to the artist boat field trip but once we got there it was fun to see the waters pH and is turbidity and the selenite levels of the water that the fish and plants and animals live in
I enjoyed kayaking the best because we went looking for alligators but we didn't see any because it was colder than normal and the sun wasn't out so the alligators stayed under water but when we came back we got to water color witch was also cool but not very interesting to me after painting we went back on the long buss ride back to Galveston. - JohnA

When we tested the turbidity using a secchi disk. Turbidity is the haziness of the water and it can be dangerous to the environment. What we did was we got water into the tub and we noticed it looked very dirty. We drained it until we saw the bottom of the tub. We drained a lot of it till we could see the bottom and got the measurement.

At first it was boring the long bus ride to artist boat but it was one of the best parts seeing the dolphins, ships, birds, taking pictures, and maybe a shark (can't remember). As we arrived I of many were disappointed that we can't kayaking and saying "I want to go home" I thought sure it was sad that we didn't go kayaking but you know its still fun without it. So we talked about turbidity, salinity, and lastly about pH. After talking about what it is and what it does we got on the bus and went on a hike as we were walking we saw spiders(a lot),birds, and snake(that will come back later). We saw many thing as we were walking back to the beginning to go back to school Jordyn screamed like she found a dead body but it turns out to be a snake about maybe 10inches to 1 ft long and looked like a rat snake but she screamed we all had a laugh. As we got on the bus we arrived back at school with full bellies (because we ate on the trip back) to get back on a normal day at school.

On our way to artist boat I was really tired so I went to sleep, and I guess that was okay, since the trip was so long. But anyways once we got there they said we weren't going to be able to kayak because of the wind's speed. So we kind of of got to choose, it was either hiking or art and everyone chose hiking, even though I would enjoyed art better. Then we did some testing on the water, and that was really fun because me and Jordyn got our feet wet to get a water sample. The testing I liked the most was PH testing, the guy said I could do the testing, so I got a little test tube and put water in it, then a PH pill and put it in the sample, afterwards we matched the color of the water to a piece of paper, and the PH was 8. We also checked salinity with a refractometer, I didn't really like this test but it was fun. Afterall the testing we rode the bus somewhere and went on a Hike, that was really fun and scary because Jordyn saw a snake and she screamed about 5 times and the got over it, hahaha ikr so funny!!!

We checked water quality to determine whether the water is harmful to animals living in the body of water. We tested for turbitiy, which was the cloudiness or haziness in the water - kind of like smoke in the air. This can mess with the fish's gills and kill them. We tested it using a secchi disk. We tested for the salinity, the salt effects how light refracts or bends in the water. We measured the salinity using a refractometer. We tested for the pH levels, which is its concentration of hydrogen ions. We used a litmus paper, which is different colors, on a scale from one to seven, negative and positive. We used it to test the acidity, and how clean the water is.

we check water quality to see how clean the water actually is. You can test it many was. Three of the ways are by checking Turbidity, Salinity, and ph. To test for Turbidity you have to use a Turbidity tube. You can test ph. by using litmus paper. And you can test salinity by using a refractometer.
-Zeke S

We checked for salinity by putting a couple drops of water in the refractometer. We check to see if the light will bend. If it bends too much in the fresh water test, then it has too much salt in the water. Which is bad for the fish. We also checked for turbidity because if there was too much turbidity it could clog up the fished gills.

Testing Water
During artist boat we discovered how to test for water ph, salinity and turbidity. Using a special tool that turns the water a certain color we found the ph. After we used a refractometer to find the salinity of the water. When we finished that we tested the turbidity using a turbidity tube. Going to Artist boat helped me learn a lot more about our water and whats in it. \

I really enjoyed going on the artist boat field trip that really opened our eyes, showing us how our environment is like. And adding to that we also need to take care of our environment since we are massive consumers which means we emit a lot of waste (pollution) into our environment. In the trip we learned a lot of thing especially how to test the water quality of Galveston bay. One of the ways we tested the water was by a turbidity test. So the principle was to get a sample of the water and putting it into a specialized beaker that shows how mater particles in the water that can affect the cloudiness (Visibility) of the water and also can cause harm to any sea life in the water. So the trip was really educational and I'll like to come again one day.

We check for turbidity a lot in places such as bay's, oceans, rivers, and much more. The reason we check for this in the water sources is so we can know how much sediment is in the water. The fish and other creatures in the water breathe, and they cannot have lots of sediment. We test turbidity by placing a disk in the bottom of a turbidity tube. You pour the water and check for visual of the secchi disk, and that is how you know how much sediment is in the water. - Caralyne M
Snake in the Woods
Artist boat was pretty cool. While we were there we checked the turbidity of the water with a tube and a Secchi disk. Turbidity is when you measure what sediments are in the waters, the sediments come from the air. We also went on a hike! There was some cool stuff there. I also saw a long black snake and I screamed.

I would like to thank y'all for having us on this field trip. I learned ALOT about our ecosystem and how we take measurements of it. Even though we did not get to go kayaking we got to go on a amazing hike through the swamp. we got to learn about turbidity, turbidity is the cloudiness in the water. You can measure turbidity by using a tube with a block and white circle in the bottom, when you see the bottom that is where you measure it.

The drive to the site for kayaking was long, and everyone was really excited to kayak. When we got there, though, and when we got there, we were disappointed. We didn't have enough time to kayak. We did get to learn about turbidity, salinity, and PH, which I thought was pretty cool.cool. Ph is the acidity of alkalinity of the water, and is tested by getting a sample of the water, and dripping it on some litmus paper. The normal PH for water is 7, which is neutral. The litmus paper turns different colors to show the acidity of alkalinity of the water. When we compared the paper to our diagram, is showed that the water was about a 7, which is good. We monitor the PH levels because most animals are adapted to living only at certain levels of PH, and any higher or lower acidity is bad for them. I also learned the PH can be affected by things like seashells, which was actually pretty interesting, and it got me thinking about all the seashells in the ocean, and how that affects the PH level.

We didn't do anything we were supposed to on artist boat. we did, however test the water to see if it was clean or not. we tested for salinity, turbidity and PH levels. Then, since the wind was going 5 mph we couldn't kayak. we also decided to do no art, which left artist boat to just Blank. Instead of doing the intended activities we did everything opposite of it. We hiked and enjoyed our luxurious 6 hour bus ride home.

Testing Our Water
When we got to the lake we were about an hour or so too late. Meaning we couldn't kayak, so instead we ran a bunch of tests on the water in the lake. My favorite test we did was testing the Turbidity of the water (the cloudiness of haziness of the water). So we tested the turbidity by using a Secchi Disk, a black and white disk with a tube connected to it. We filled the tube up until it was full, then let water out until we could see the Secchi disk. Then measured the turbidity. We test the turbidity in order to see how polluted the water is and how safe it is for the fish and animals living in it.~Braden H
Testing Our Water
We test our waters for pH,salinity, and turbidity so we can keep track of the environment for our animals. We test our pH to see how acidic the environment is, so we know how much chemicals there might be in it. We test salinity to see how salty the water is, so we can keep track of salt water and fresh water movements. Turbidity is tested for the reason of keeping track of how much sediments are in the water, so we know to cleanse the water if it has too many sediments. We do all these things for the reason of keeping our animal friends safe.

Last week my class went on a field trip with Artist Boat, to Lake Charlotte. Although we didn't kayak, we tested the water quality. One of the tests we performed was a turbidity test. We filled a tube with a disk at the bottom, and slowly released water until we could see the disk. instead of kayaking, we went on a hike, which was still fun. - Carson H.
Artist Boat Water Quality Testing
On my groups artist boat field trip we learned how to test for Turbidity, Salinity and pH. The most interesting thing that I learned was how to test the Turbidity. This would be done by filling up a tube of water to the top. Then you would release the water slowly though a small pipe until you could see a black and white colored circle. Once you did you would check how much water was in the tube to get the turbidity.

Field Trip
On the artist boat field trip, we tested the water quality. Using a secchi disk and tube, we tested the turbidity. Using a refractometer, we tested the salinity. To test the PH level, we used litmus paper and looked at the color. We didn't get to go kayaking, but went on a nature hike to explore plants and animals.

Turbidity is used to see how clean is the bay or if their any organisms are living. The water is sometimes is clean and sometimes is dirty so we use a tube to find how much of the water is clean. The water is dirty because people throw trash into the water and that kill all the animals and organisms. When we got inside the kayak and started to row the water was getting mix with all the dirty underneath. We have to save all the living organisms and try to find how much of the water is dirty.

The trip to and from Lake Charlotte was fun because I got to chat with my friends on the bus. When we got to the place, we were taught how to use paddles, then we had to take the kayak into the water. The kayak went smooth until my partner had to get out the boat. I accidentally tipped the boat, and my partner went under the water. Turbidity is important because it shows how clear the water is and how much pollutants are in the water.

We check the salinity of water in our bodies of water, because the salinity levels will affect every aspect of the ecosystem. When testing for salinity, we use a refractometer as our measuring tool. Turbidity is the amount of sediment found in the water. We measure this by using a secchi disk. You collect the water and then pour out a certain amount until you can see the small disk at the bottom, and that is how you find the turbidity level.
We check water quality to see if the ecosystem is harmed or not.We can check this by using multiple types of tests. Turbidity is one where you measure how clear the water is at a certain
height. Salinity is where you measure how the water is,like if its salty or if it contains acids and you measure this by using refractometer.pH is when you measure for acidity of alkalinity of water.

I had a lot of fun on Artist Boat. We learned how to kayak and we got to watercolor on the water. I learned how to measure the salinity. You measure the salinity by filling up a refractometer with the water and letting the water run until a certain point. We measure the water quality so that all the plants and animals that live there won't be harmed by anything in the water. -Noemi M.
After going to the Artist Boat field trip for the second time, I have learned various things from this experience. First of all, it was very fun to get in the water and kayak plus we almost went near a snake too! After kayaking, we tested for turbidity in the water. I learned that turbidity is how clear the water or contaminated it is. We took a sample of water and put it in a turbidity tube with a secchi disk. We then poured out the water until we could see the disk. It turns out that the trinity water is not as clear which tells us to step up and do something about it. This is the main thing I learned at the field trip and would like to contribute to making the water healthier for all of us.

For artist boat, we went kayaking. Plus, we saw how to test for turbidity. Turbidity is the haziness or cloudiness of a fluid. This is usually caused by large numbers of individual particles that are generally visible to the naked eye. The main reason that we tested the water was that so we could see if it was harmful to the ecosystem.
- Camryn H.
I went on the artist boat field trip. We went kayaking. We painted pictures. I also learned how to test water for turbidity. We filled a cylinder with the lake water and slowly started letting some out until we could see the plate on the bottom. We do this check to see if the water is safe and how many particles it has in it. -Jackson K
Artist Boat Trip
Do you know how much fun artist boat is if not i'll tell you. It was more fun then going out late to go eat at a restaurant. It was a fun learning experience and if you don't believe me just ask about everybody else who went! I don't know a single person who would turn down this fun time. We zigzagged all over the place in the water and it was fun. We even ate lunch out there on the bay like nobody's business. If I were asked to go again I definitely would love the chance to go again. I just utterly love the way they set everything up its just so amazing. Now getting into the stuff about turbidity. jeez I think it is with a tube and you would fill it up and then at the bottom of it called a secchi disk and if you cant see it the turbidity is bad. Thanks for the trip!

Cool Trip :-)
I had fun at the artist boat field trip. while I was there I learned some things about kayaking and the ecosystem. First, I figured out that a kayak is not very stable while I was painting. Second, I learned that the turbidity (murkiness) of the water affects the plants living in it. Finally, I had the nice experience of viewing the lake and its inhabitants.

Artist Boat Field Trip
Artist boat was lots of fun we got to kayak and test water turbidity. On the kayak we got to draw the landscape of the lake, and the trees. We tested turbidity by putting water in a tube with hole that could be plugged. At the bottom was a sec-chi disk, which is just a black and white disk, that we had to see where was the first time we could see it.

What I Learned
What I learned at Artist Boat was how and why we test turbidity, salinity, and pH. How to test turbidity is we use a secchi disk, and gather some water then let some out little by little until the disk is visible. How you test salinity is by using refractometer to see how much the light bends in the water. How you test pH is using a pH scale and putting it in water so see how basic or acidic it is. At Artist Boat this is what we learned and were taught how to use these instruments.

My favorite part about artist boat was the kayaking even though me and my partner kept bumping into trees and other things. It was really fun and I learned about the water and its surroundings. The trip is pretty fun π£πΌ
It was fun ig, idk it was alright we fell off the kayakπ π¦
I learned that hooters wasn't too far from where we we're kayaking, I learned that you need a lot of force to push the kayak and it was a lot of fun...
Ph test
I learn that you can measure how much salt in the water, to see how much salt there is in the water nbrightness glows brighter, this process is called Ph Test
On Artist boat we learned about many things, for example we went over PH ,salinity, and turbidity.
Ph is the acidity in the water it can effect the population of the fish if it is two acidity then the fish could die because they are breathing in that acidic water. Salinity is the salt in the water it could also effect the fish and plants and for example the blue crab normally hangs around in saltier water , but during winter or when they are about to lay there eggs they move to deeper water where it is less salty. Turbidity is another thing we learned it determines how murky the water is and this can effect the fish because if it is to murky then the fish cannot get the oxygen out of the water and they won't be able to breathe. We need to know this type of information because the population of the fish can die and we need to prevent that from happening . This information is also important for marine biologist and people who own swimming pools because they test all of these things on a daily basis . People need to respect these tests because they really do help the ecosystem and our environment.

I went to the artist boat fiand of trip and had a lot of fun... We go to kiyack and and it was really fun go my arms got tired but it as worth it...Also before we wen kiyackung we measured water and checked how much sand there was ... We also draw about the ecosystem and my drawing was horrible πππ·... I love artist boat!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️ππΌ ~ Ashley Chavez ❤️
When we first got there we did lots of test to see the Salt level and ph of the water. We then when back to where the kayaks where we then picked our kayaks. They thought us how to paddle and how to adjust our life jackets. We then got in our kayaks and when around the Trinity river and then came back we didn't see any alligators but it was pretty funππ£π½ :Jerry

all we did was drive drive drive no matter what, kayaking on my mind got canceled no I'm mad.
I leanrned that a bus isn't really fast, and 5 mph winds can make you not able to use a kayak. Also I learned people are afraid of floating snacks. I learned that you don't use people with bad eyesight to look at the secci Disk.

Lake Charlotte
We went to the lake. I saw five alligators and paddled a lot. There was some trash on the shoreline and the logs in the water looked cool. There were cypress trees. We got to eat in our kayaks and use watercolor to paint a scenery shot on our boards. I painted a tree with a bird eating a fish. It was a great experience.
Field Trip to the Cypress Swamp
Today at Lake Charlotte and the Cypress Swamp we learned about salutes, nitrates and how to kayak. While I was on the kayak I saw two alligators sunbathing on the shoreline. I saw small bugs swimming in the swamp. Moss was in the water. When we tested to see how clear the water was we put it in a tube with a black and white diamond at the bottom, and then you let water out until you saw the disk. This showed the turbidity of the water or how cloudy it is. Nature has beautiful things if you pay close attention.
Cypress Swamp Trip
Today I went to the Cypress Swamp at Lake Charlotte. This was the first time I had ever kayaked before and got to be apart of Artist Boat. It was amazing. I had a great time with my friends. We got to eat lunch on the lake, in our kayaks, which was cool. I got to see birds, both large and small bugs. The small ones were looking like they were doing a dance on the water. I had an amazing time. This trip I will never forget and I hope we can do this again.
Cypress Swamp
The one thing I knew when we got to Lake Charlotte is to pay close attention, respect our experts and do what you are told. I know I did these because I did not get in trouble. The one thing I loved the most was the view, it was so beautiful. I learned that nature isn't so bad after all if you really take the time to learn more about it. You will find out it has so many amazing and beautiful things. I learned that you can detect so many amazing things with so little tools. At the end, it was about both having fun and learning something new.
The Cypress Swamp
My favorite part about going to the Cypress Swamp was going up the bayou and seeing the alligators. There were many alligators, all different sizes. Painting was very fun too. I also learned about the salinity levels of the water in the swamp. There is 1 to 5 parts per thousands of salt in the swamp. We also learned how and why the lake is muddy and not clear. This is because of the rainfall and the fresh water runoff. It was a very beautiful place to go.
8th grade Kayak Trip
My favorite thing about going to cypress swamp was the scenery. It was absolutely beautiful out there. The trees reminded me of Louisiana and the water was very calm and relaxing. The overall environment was different from where I live but breathtaking. I hope we get to go again soon. It wasn't just about having fun, we learned in the process and I think that was really cool.
cypress swamp
Today i learned a lot about the cypress swamp there was so much to do and learn there there was much to see there where a lot of animals there like fish, birds, spiders and alligator's they teach people about the swamp they teach about the water ph it was fun to go to the cypress swap.
Schuyler's blog
Today we went to lake Charlotte. we learned all about the water quality and after that they showed us how to kayak. when we where done with all of that we kayaked through the lake and into a swamp where we saw a couple of alligators. when we found a good open part of the swamp we stopped and painted some of the wildlife and ate are lunch. at the end of the day I was very sore from the hard workout but i had a lot of fun and really suggest to go on the artist boat run.
Our 8th Grade Kayaking Trip
We went to Lake Charlotte today, we all learned about salinity, nitrate, pH, and turbidity. All of us were riding in kayak's, riding from Lake Charlotte to the Trinity River. We drew pictures of the landscape, we saw a few Alligators, Birds, etc. At the end of the trip we headed back to Lake Charlotte, if I could there again I would love to. Lake Charlotte and the Trinity River are very unique places to visit, I am hoping that our present 7th Graders get to go there next year because it was a lot of fun.
My trip to Cypress Swamp
When i went to cypress swamp , The best part about that trip was the amazing scenery, And all the wildlife. It was my first ever to cypress swamp and i definitely wanna go back some day.It was tons of fun. We saw plenty of alligators the instructors where where great, They really knew what they where talking about. We also did this cool art project called "Art On water" Where we used water brushes and water painted in the kayak, And we also had lunch on the kayak. We also learned a Lot about the animals, The environment and the habitats which the animals live in.
Kayaking Trip
I think the thing I liked the most about the whole trip was the view. I love how open and clear it is. I love how blue the water is. I think it's all beautiful. Something coll I saw was an alligator, kind of, up close for the first time, and I learned that they are more scared of us than we are of them. I learned new things about turbidity and nitrate. Something about the trip, that was fun, was splashing my friends a little bit, finding a black dog and our whole class named him John Cena, and racing for first place! But, in the end, it didn't matter because we were all going to the same place. The whole experience was fantastic and I'm so glad we got to go. Thank you to everyone who helped us!

Did not go... But intriguing π
This trip was intruiguing. I was not able to go on this trip but I have heard of the experiences of the people that went on this trip. Although I was able to learn about different ways things are being polluted. I also learned how to watercolor which was so magnificent, and I will do it again.
Thank you for your welcoming invitation to the Artist Boat field trip. I enjoyed learning about brackish water, water routes, and how valuable our wet lands are. I also enjoyed water color painting , and learning about the types of animals that live in the wet lands. Kaiaking was a blast , except for the harsh beaming sun, and the fact that ,my lunch was hot and wet when we ate. Other than that this whole experience was amazing .
My experience with Artist boat was terrific! It was very intriguing to learn about my home and the water all around us. Our instructor was very into teaching us and answered all of our questions. My absolute favorite activity we did that day was the setup of where everything is including pesticides, animals, etc.
The day we learned how to water color was my personal favorite. The instructor was very patient and encouraging. The skills we learned will help me throughout all my years in art class. I'd like to thank everyone who helped to give us this opportunity of learning and water coloring at the same time! I had a wonderful time.

I think that the trip was spectacular and fun to experience. I'm glad that you taught us about marshes and how they protect us from floods. I am exceedingly fond of water coloring, which is why that was my favorite part of the trip. I'm extremely thankful towards you for teaching me about marshes and how to kayaking.
I had a field trip with Austin Middle School on Tuesday with Alex and Phil, I liked my experience very well, my instructors were very stern and wanted everything to be their way. I'd have to say my back instructor did have a lot of tolerance for my partner and I, we were running in to ham a lot, and we were not very good at kayaking. I got very tired and very hot, many people were very hot and I honestly didn't enjoy my kayaking trip, I did like when the Artist Boat program came to my school though. I think that it's a very good for the people here to learn about the environment that they live in.
A couple of weeks ago, I went on a field trip with Artist Boat to learn about Galveston Bay. It was amazing! We kayaked for 4 hours! When we arrived, we were getting prepared for the trip and we were also taught how to kayak, because the last time I kayaked were a couple of years ago. After that, we set out and got the hang of it. At lunch, we stopped and ate our lunch. It was interesting how we were watching the nature all around us. Then we headed back, and went back to school! What a great experience!
I was on a great trip this year! I learned about what pH is, salinity, and what many other things are. pH is the amount of acid in the water, or substance. Water has a pH of 7. Salinity is how much salt is in the water. I learned how to detect the visibility of water, But forgot what it was called. There were a couple things I didn't like, though. For instance, we only had about 2-3 minutes to paint. Overall, I liked this trip.
Loved It!
I'm the type of person that would rather stay indoors and be by myself which just makes the fact that I am writing this much more powerful. There is so much more to boating then I thought there was. At first I was very ignorant about everything involving water. Artist boat does a great job at educating people and shedding light on a subject some people know nothing about. They also taught me an abundance of things about art and I'll be the first person to tell you that I'm terrible at art. When we were finished with our paintings I was semi proude of what I made.
My first amazing experience with Artist Boat was the lesson about water sheds and Galveston Bay. I learned some interesting facts and I will definitely use them in my future life. My second amazing experience was the water painting. I adore art, especially painting nature or what I see, so this was a fun time for me. My last, but not the least, experience was the kayaking. Although it was extremely hot, I had an amazing time experiencing kayaking for the first time during school. I desired the time we spent learning and physically acting with nature.
Artist Boat
I had a lot of fun at Artist Boat this year. I would love to participate in this event next year if I could. Thank you Artist Boat for letting us come and learn about Galveston Bay and go kayaking.
I was on a magnificent field trip this year! I went kayaking on the crystal, blue waters of Galveston bay. I learned how to measure the amount of salt in the water. I also learned how to tell how murky is the water in the bay. This was very fascinating! I learned that the bay was a estuary, and I discovered that the bay protects us from floods! I ate my lunch watching engrossing sights of nature. Finally, we water paint our own scenery of the gorgeous bay! This was a excellent way to learn more about our bay.
Recently, I got to experience kayaking and watercoloring on an Artist Boat field trip. I have personally never been kayaking before this field trip, so I had no idea what to expect. But they did a fantastic job at explaining how to correctly kayak. The kayaking trip was so enjoyable that I barely even noticed my clothes were a bit soaked! Not to mention that we saw fascinating snails produce their own food on the crispy plants. And glittery fish sprout from the brackish water at unexpected times. Honestly, after being taught about how the marsh is so significant, I can't possibly imagine a world without our wonderful Galveston Bay!
Artists Boat
Recently I went to the Galveston Bay with Artists Boat. I had a superb time learning about the environment around me. I learned about water salinity, kayaking, and water color painting. I enjoyed the kayaking the most because it was a new experience. I hope I can go kayaking again. Thank you for taking my class mates and I on the outstanding field trip.
Just a few weeks ago I earned the pleasure and honor to go on a kayaking and waterpainting trip with the buisness know as Artist Boat. First, the kind instructors showed us how to properly use, paddle, and sit in a kayak. Then, once we were in the water, paddling our kayaks, we paddled in the bay following our leader. We stopped on a miniature island to preform a really interesting water distillity test. We set out again, this time stopping in a marsh to enjoy a delicious lunch, accompanied by friends and beautiful nature. After that, we raced to the very same mini island and this time had the privilege to use our supplies to paint amazing pictures of nature with the waterpaint the staff were so kind as to let us use. We finally got back ashore were we politely handed back the supplies, got on our bus, and set off back to school. We all leaned an enourmous amount about our ecosystem as well. I think it was a delightful experience and hope to soon come again.
Artist boat field trip
I had a astounding time on the Artist boat field trip. I loved getting to kayak with my partner. My favorite part was when we got to paint our pictures of the outdoors. I learned about numerous things, like salinity, how to paddle when you are on the back of the kayak, and about how to test what kind of water it is and how to measure it. I really enjoyed eating my lunch in a kayak for the first time. The teachers were very inspiring and helped me when I needed it . It was one of my favorite field trips ever.
Artist Boat
The Artist Boat field trip really captures the feel of Galveston Bay. Whether eating lunch on the water or painting, we were always doing something fun! This field trip was awesome because it mixed learning with something enjoyable. We got to test the salinity of the water, learn about the native plants, and even try some of them!
Recently, I visited an eye catching spot, also known as Artist Boat. When I first got out of the bus, there were two delightful women there waiting for us. For our own safety, they gave us a very helpful lesson on how to control a kayak and how to keep myself from tipping. Although, just in case, we were taught what to do in case we did fall over and they also gave us life jackets too. When I first started kayaking, I couldn't wipe the smile off my face. We did so much in one day, and yes it was tiring, but it also was a time to remember. Not everyone gets a chance to do things like that. π
Artist Boat with Austin Middle School
Artist boat was a great experience for me and my classmates. I was very happy that you let me be in a kayak by myself, it was much easier than having to be sincronised with another person.
Thank you for suck a great day!

Artist Boat Comments
I really enjoyed this field trip! I did not expect something this big, I expected something much less, like going to the movies. But this was an amazing experience, and something not much people get to do.
I loved kayaking, it was exhilarating, and refreshing at the same time. The water color was amazing also, because I have never water colored before, and it was nice that I got to.
This was an amazing field trip, and I look forward to Artist Boat again, thank you!

Artist Boat was a fantastic trip! The guides taught us how to take water samples to test water salinity. We learned about our environment and how we need to take care of it. They also helped us learn to kayak out in the bay. They taught us how to accelerate and deccelerate our kayak and how to make it rotate. We learned the importance of painting pictures as accurate as we can because before they had cameras, people painted to show you how something looks. It was all together a amazing experience!
Artist Boat
This years artist boat was amazing! We started the day by loading up on the bus and driving over to an entry way on the bay coast. The instructors did not allow us to start kayaking until they had taught us all the safety tips and procedures such as, how to hold a paddle, what to do if you or another classmate flips, what motions to do with your paddle when trying to turn a certain direction and how to work together when paddling if you are in a double kayak. When we all got into the water we were led to a small piece of land where we tested water samples and learned about the area. After that we kayaked over to the marshes and ate lunch and learned about the different animals in the area. After lunch we head back to the same place we stopped at first and painted water color pictures of a landscape we could see from where we were standing, the ladies there were very nice and a great help when you had a problem. After we finished our paintings we kayaked back to where we started and we all put our supplies and life jackets up. It was a great experience and well worth the trip there, I'm so glad I got to go!

ARTIST BOAT
My experience with Artist Boat was phenomenal. I learned tons in an exciting, engaging way. I learned a lot about what harms my environment and ways to prevent myself from doing them. I was taught about water salinity, types of water, and watershed. Artist Boat is great and I hope they come around next year.
Artist Boat Adventure
Artist Boat was amazing! I got to paint beautiful watercolor paintings that represent marine life, and saw and took part in a productive presentation that explained marine vocabulary, and pollutants that go into the bay, ocean, and other bodies of water. The volunteers who guided our classes were really kind and helpful, and I would definitely want to see Artist Boat again!
Artist Boat Field Trip
Artist Boat was an exceptionally fun field trip! I got to learn about the habitats and we even got to go kayaking! We got to learn about many different things like the water IQ, which was my ultimate favorite. We got to eat lunch on the kayak and they made sure that we were safe every time we got on the kayak!
Thank You Artist Boat

I really enjoyed having time to spend with you guys. It was so cool/frightening seeing the waste that we produce every day. You guys made me learn a lot about water, what you guys do, and how we can do little things that make a big difference in our lives. I really liked it when you let us go kayaking, it was my first time! I liked the sea grapes and how they tasted. I really enjoyed it when we all got to paint not just in the classroom, but in the wild, too. I look forward to our next meeting, Artist Boat!
Sincerely,
Austin Middle School Student.
This year's Artist Boat, 2015, was AMAZING! I really liked how we could appreciate the gift of nature. Nature is the only reason why we live and all of us should agree that we should preserve nature from harmful things. The best part of Artist Boat was, of course, going cayaking. It was painful to row, but it was still the best experience I had in Galveston. We got taught of how to row, different species, and SNAILS. All I can say now is that this was an awesome experience and I hope I can visit again. Good Luck!!!! ;D
Artist Boat
I had a wonderful time on the Artist Boat field trip. I had a fantastic time kayaking on the water, and what was even more fun was that I had a partner. It was fun eating on the water too. I never imagined myself eating on a kayak on the bay. My most favorite part though was how we were able to water paint. I loved how they walked you through the steps of sketching, and then giving us different techniques on how to use the paint brush. I was able to relax, pick an area, and paint. I had a blast on the field trip.
It was great!!!
It was a very fun experience! We got to do many things like paint a picture, eat lunch, and we got to ride in kayaks! They first teach you the basics and safety and then you get to experience it for yourself.
Artist Boat Field Trip
The artist boat field trip was really fun. My favorite part was kayaking especially because I got to kayak by myself. I was happy when I got to do it myself because I personally think doing it with a partner is more challenging.
Thoughts on artist boat
I thought that the artist boat trip was a amazing new experience and it was also a new way to learn and try new things. For example I have never been kayaking and this was my first time. For my final thought is that the trip was just amazing with the activities we did such as checking how much salt there is in the water or painting our scenery.
artist boat
The field trip was good because it was free for the hole thing. Just joking it was actually really fun, going on the canoes looking at your surroundings. I really recommend it it is worth you should go.
Artist boat = fun
The field trip was an amazing experience especially because it was free. My favorite part of the tip was when we got to get on a kayak and be able to control it. I wish I could go back and get more of the fresh air in my face.
Artist Boat
My experience on the artist boat field trip was, entertaining. The most interesting part was just kayaking, even though there was more to it like painting and learning about the environment. The whole field trip was a good excercise, and it was good to have a partner. I would definitely do this again.
When I went kayaking, I had a blast. We got to do it on are own or with a partner, I went with a partner and we had so much fun. If anyone got stuck they would come and help us, I actually have a pretty funny story when I went. So, I saw someone stuck on rocks and it was a little wind that dat so not surprise, anyways when we went to help we got stuck not surprised. It was so funny because no matter how much we tried we couldn't get out, but then someone came to help us (an adult) and we were saved. So, you can tell it was an amazing experience and an educational one too. I got to paint the bay where we went afterwards. I had an amazing time on that field trip, one of my the best
Fun Experience
Although I did not go on the trip, I had a fun experience with them when they came to our classroom. We got to learn a lot about water coloring and about Galveston bay. I hope they come again -Blaine
Artist Boat was very fun experience because I never went kayaking berfore. Amari and I got stuck a lot of times and almost got lost. I learned how to test how dirty the water was. I knew the we had brackish water, but it was very dirty. I want to go to artist boat again, but I really wanted to have more time painting. At the end, it was fun because we got to swim in the water with are friends.
My experience with Artist Boat was amazing. My friend Aysha and I had a blast! She went canoeing with my science teacher Mrs. Pelonero was there and they ate their yummy snacks and got all splashed (and sunburned too) in the end they returned to Austin Middle School all safe and sound. And that was my experience with Artist Boat.
I went to a bay with one of my best friends, Maggie. We got to kayak and and paint what we saw out in nature. I painted the grass that had flowers. On our field trip, we learned about Salinity and a lot more about bays then I knew before. I'm not going to lie though, it was a real workout on the arms! Overall our field trip was fun and educational.
Artist boat
I had lots of fun!!! Everything we did was very fun, and I got to do lots of new things.
Artist boat is a very good program. I had a lot of learning experience on the artist boat field trip, I saw pelican, and really cool kayaks . I loved painting the birds and swimming with the wild but I didn't really like the life jackets. When they came to our class I loved painting fish and other animals cause u get to express your feelings and mind when you paint.my favorite part was me learning how to paint. Thank you for showing me the world.
I loved artist boat! It helped with not just my teamwork skills but my knowledge about where I live. I loved how we got to go out and not just sit in a classroom. We saw everything that they do and got to do it ourselves. I learned lots of different vocabulary words and lots of new stuff. Thank you artist boat!!!
When I went on our Artist boat field trip, I had a blast. I got to go kayaking in the bay, we learned about how the wetlands effects our oceans and water quality in Galveston. I also had fun painting because I had not painted in a very long time and it felt amazing to hold that brush in my hand again. Overall this was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to others my age.
Kayaking and Salinity!
This was a really fun experience! I really enjoyed the kayaking, and it was really cool to learn about water salinity and see the chemical-thing change the color of the water. When we painted, I saw some really neat birds, and we looked at a crab trap, and there actually was a crab in it! I really liked this field trip, and can't wait to go back!
The Artist Boat Field Trip
The field trip was really fun and interesting. It also taught me a lot about Galveston Bay and the ecosystems
artist boat field trip
The artist boat field trip was really fun and interesting. I learned about brackish water and Ph levels.
artist boat
When we went to kayaking, we learned more about the environment and learned to move a kayak. The water paint was fun too. We also learned how to use water. It was all fun thanks for coming:).
Artist boat
Artist boat is so much fun. It is very smart to combine art and science together. They are both very similar. I learned so much. Such as the suability of the water. And that it's not actually that dirty. It's was so much fun and unbelievable. It made me look at the world differently. I love artist boat. It made learning so much fun.
AustinMS Kayak Trip
I loved the trip that we went on. It was really fun. I never thought I could have fun while learning. Also, I love art so that made it even more fun. I really did learn a lot about pH levels and salinity. I learned that estuaries are like nurseries for marine life. I loved this trip and I would definitely do it again if I could. From, AdamariV. Mrs.Pelonero's 5th period

When I went on the artist boat field trip had lots of fun. It was the first time I had ever went kayaking.
My Adventure!
The field trip was one of the best field trips I've ever went to! I learned so many things like the amount of salt in the water, how to kayak, etc. Thank You for the the adventure! ππ»

The kiak trip
I enjoyed how a small part of land can have so much life in it.
I also enjoyed the part when we did the iq test and also the part when we did the painting.
I also liked the part of how the w glands help many kinds of organizems in it.
I hope you can do this next year and hope that we can learn more about this place and what is so important to protect this habitat.
Thank you for everything you did
Artist Boat
I had a great time at artist boat! I had so much fun kayaking with my class and learning about the biodiversity! I also loved it when they came to my school so I could paint animals with water colors. I loved seeing all the biodiversity when I was in the water and it was all so beautiful. I hope I will get to visit them again.

Central 7th Grade 1st Period Mr. Puccetti - Kayaking Adventure
My time with you guys was amazing! I got to see cool things like birds and a lot of grass. I learned how to kayak and I learn about the salt and fresh (brackish) water. I also saw snails, plants and other things that live in Galveston Bay. I even got to taste a plant. I also got to measure how much salt was in the water.
I painted pictures of what I saw around me. I got so wet in the water! we kayaked around the bay and we got eat in our boat. Also all of us got to have a race at the end! I observed things that I never saw before while in Galveston.
I got to ask Ms.Jennifer things about measuring ph of the water the salinity. I got to look into a refractometer. That was cool science!

Central MS 7th grade Kayak Adventure (Mr. Puccetti 1st Period)
My experience on the Artist Boat was very awesome. We ate sea grapes, we got to have a race, paint pictures, and most important we had a good time. We learned the salinity of the water and how it affects the ability for plants live it in the bay, We tested how much salt was in the water.
When we were in the water we were all laughing and getting along. For lunch we went into the wetlands and ate what we brought from home. After we ate we painted water-color pictures of the scenery. Mr. Puccetti's picture was the best! Next we thought of and talked about ecosystems and the organisms that live in the wetlands area.
When we got back to shore we pulled our kayaks to the land and we talked about what happened during our trip. We then measured the ph, salinity and turbidity of the water. Then we packed up got on the bus and left back to school. When we got back to school we talked about our experiences again and we wrote important facts in our journal. Artist Boat was amazing!

Kaying Adventure - Central 7th Grade Mr. Puccetti's 1st period
My experience with the artist boat was amazing!!!! We measured the ph, clarity and salinity of the water. Ms. Jennifer and Ms. Jessie taught me and my classmates how to paddle on the kayaking trip. From the shore we took off in the kayak, but first we had to make sure that are butt goes first so our kayak don't tip over. From there we took off and we explored the grasslands with many sights to see like pelicans, fish, stingrays, and dolphins but dolphins are usually all the way out in the ocean. There is a known fact about the dolphin, they can echo-locate to each other in the water. [Eco-locate means to talk to each other using sound waves]. I recommend that you sign up your school, wife, husband or anybody to go. It's a lot of fun! Trust me when you done with this adventure you will be sound asleep the rest of the day when you get home so have a good time with Ms.Jennifer and Ms.Jessie!
