On Artist boat I learned that they test the water quality in many ways. like test it for salinity with a refractometer or pH with litmus cards. I also learned that they do this to protect the wildlife and our water supply from harmful chemicals. And try to stop what causes the chemicals to get there. Saving the native species that live there from pollution.  -Max K.
